First off, ABS means anti-locking brake system. And if there is something wrong with your brakes, then you better get to a repair shop or dealer. In most this case, it could almost be anything since your vehicle is over eight years old and the warranty is over. Best bet is that maybe the brakes are just really dirty. Unless you've done some serious driving with your Mountaineer, then it might be something a little more expensive.
If the ((ABS)) Light is on then it's a good thing indicating that the Antilock brakes sensor is in good condition. I too have a 2002 mountaineer
A malfunction in the air bag system has been detected
On a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer : The " check gage " light comes on if the engine coolant temperature is too high , the engine oil pressure is too low , or the gas gauge is at or near empty
An ABS fault.
my trac off light comes on in my 2002 cavalier then the car cuts off, but will start back up minutes later then the check engine light will come on and they both stay on
what causes the battery light to on a 2005 ford expedition to come on?
stupid computer chip in steering system that is malfuctioning at least that's what dealer told me
You are OVERHEATING. You most likely have an intake or Head gasket problem.
Yes, that is one of hundreds of possible causes.
the 02 sencers are in the pipe, if there is a problem with them it would cause the check engine light to come on but the pipes themselves wouldn't
There are hundreds of possible causes. You need to have the system checked for codes with a scan tool.
The airbag light stays on when the computer has detected a malfunction and set a code. The codes need checked with a scan tool to know possible causes.
