Time and money.
Head gasket set around $200
Thermostat same as VG30dett $15-30
New head bolts ARP is the best
Have the head checked for cracks or warpped and they can resurface the head usually $100 or so
Get a coolant system flush.
Might also change timing belt while you have the head off along with the tensioner and spark plugs.
It would not hurt to change water pump as well.
Would be a great time to upgrade to a larger radiator as well if you get on your rb hard they seem to make a lot of heat.
Well I think I covered everything as I have to do this to mine as well do to my little drifting escapade.
No
either sell the car or pulley engine out
Extremely difficult as this is a major repair. Best left to a professional.
Get a very good mechanic and dont plan on getting your car back the same day. Or buy a new gasket and remove the intake and diy.
I hate to tell you this but I just paid $3,500 at the Nissan dealer for head gasket replacment.
To change the valve cover gasket on a 2000 Nissan Quest, first ensure the engine is cool, then disconnect the battery. Remove the necessary components like the air intake duct and ignition coils to access the valve cover. Unscrew the valve cover bolts, lift off the cover, and remove the old gasket. Clean the mating surfaces, place the new gasket on the cover, then reassemble everything in the reverse order, tightening the bolts to the specified torque.
As far as I know, it should have a gasket. Make sure to use gasket sealer as well when replacing it.
If it was removed then YES.
To change the rear valve cover gasket on a 2000 Nissan Quest, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove any necessary components obstructing access to the rear valve cover, such as the intake manifold or other hoses. Once exposed, unbolt the valve cover, carefully lift it off, and remove the old gasket. Clean the mating surfaces, place the new gasket on the cover, reassemble by reversing the process, and ensure all bolts are torqued to specifications.
The only way to get to the intake manifold gasket is to take the head off. I'm working on it right now and so far that is all i can say
no, use rtv sealant
The gasket for a 1997 pickup was around $40.00-$50.00, if i remember right and that was at NAPA.
