3.73
yes, but not if 4wd
more than likely it's a 3.08 gear in the rearend.
Do you mean gear ratio or rearend size?
Jeep Wrangler only,
Open the cover, count the teeth on the big gear ( the ring gear ) next count the teeth on the small gear ( the pinion gear). Divide the big gear by the little gear and that is your ratio.
The rearend gear size in a 1989 Chevrolet Suburban 2WD typically comes with a variety of ratios, commonly ranging from 3.08 to 3.73, depending on the specific model and options. To determine the exact gear ratio for a specific vehicle, it's best to check the RPO (Regular Production Option) codes on the vehicle’s build sheet or consult the owner’s manual. Additionally, the differential type, such as a 10-bolt or 12-bolt, can also affect the gear ratio options available.
Overdrive is a gear in your transmission that allows you to save gas and lower engine rpm by changing the net gearing to a higher, more gas effiecient ratio. Typically it is higher than 1 to 1 which is usually the top gear. This makes it like you had a higher ratio rearend gear installed also allowing a higher top speed at a slower acceleration curve. Consider it an economy gear ratio.
85W90 gear oil.
yes it does come with a 12 bolt 8.5" rearend but im not 100% sure on it But i beleve it does come with a 3.73 ratio the only real way to find out is to turn the driveline and count the turns until the tire rotates once
The easiest way is to write down the VIN # and then call a Chevy parts dealer and tell him you would like to know the gear ratio in your 2008 truck. And that you have the VIN #. He'll take care of you.
