The 0 part is the degrees at which it is set. TDC stands for top dead center. Your engine times at 0 degrees at top dead center.
Chevy 302the 5.0 302 is a ford engine do you mean the 305?
it does not mean that. it means that the timing is off so it has to be timed by a timing gun pointed at the distributer and adjusted
The timing marks can assist a mechanic in setting the engine timing. The number one timing marks will set the number one piston so that the number one valve can be properly adjusted.
One is advance mark, one is retard mark, one is dead on mark.
Electronic Spark Timing (EST) circuit is shorted to ground.
the easiest way... valve and timing adjustments doesnt mean itll work right though
YES...And I mean BAD BEND
Do you mean the timing chain? You'll need to pull everything in front of the timing chain cover, remove the timing chain, remove the bolts that hold the sprockets and slide the sprockets off the camshaft and the crankshaft.
Do you mean firing order? If so it is 1, 8, 4, 3, 6, 5, 7, 2.
First the Iroc is just an upgrade to the z28 package. Second open the glove box in the center console. You should see a white sticker with a bunch of three digit codes. If you find the code B4Z Then it's an Iroc. If not then it's just a z. Also they put more tpi 305's and 350's in the irocz's than the Z28 but they did put the tpi in plenty of Z's regardless. So that isn't really any indication. Check the vin number Then look up the letters and what they mean in the number All Z-28's are NOT IROC's. Run the vin, few z-28 had t.i.p. tuned port injection (305 moter only) and evein less iroc's with it (350 moter) so if u got tpi its most likely its just z28 but if u got 350 w tpi then its most likely an iroc
Timing s not symmetrical
the mark on the camshaft timing gear needs to line up with the mark on the crankshaft timing gear to ensure the camshaft is in proper time with the crankshaft. Keep in mind that the marks will only line-up every other revolution of the engine due to the crankshaft spinning twice as fast as the camshaft.
