To change a flat tire you need a jack, tire iron and a new tire. Jack the car up and remove the bolts, you can then slide the old tire off and replace it with the new one.
This enables a flat tire change with a spare tire en route.
put car in park. loosen lug nuts on flat tire. jack car up just high enough to remove flat tire. remove lug nuts. remove flat tire. replace with new tire. put lug nuts back on and tighten. lower jack. drive away
Immediately pull off the road and stop. Set the parking brake on your car. Use the jack to jack up the car and change the flat tire to the spare. If you are unable to accomplish this call for help.
You need a jack and a wheel brace (wrench)
First loosen the lug nuts just a touch, then get or find the spare tire. Now jack up the vehicle, remove the the flat tire and fit the other . Tighten all the lug nuts as much as you can alternately. Now lower the car gently and when the new tire is touching the ground firmly, re-tighten all the lug nuts again. now lower the vehicle totally and pack the jack and flat away.
The owners manual will have directions as to where the jack, tire and wrench are stored in the vehicle along with the correct place to put the jack so as not to damage the vehicle.
To fix a flat tire, you will need a spare tire, lug wrench, jack, tire iron, tire pressure gauge, and possibly a tire patch kit or portable air compressor depending on the cause of the flat. You may also want to have gloves and a flashlight on hand for better visibility and grip.
The first thing to do is pull over immediately in a safe place if you are driving. You should then get out your car jack and spare tire and change the flat. It's always good to keep a can of Fix A Flat with you also for quick fixes.
