CMM (Capability Maturity Model) is a framework for assessing and improving an organization's processes, primarily in software development, by defining maturity levels from initial to optimized. In contrast, IPC (Inter-Process Communication) refers to mechanisms that allow processes to communicate and synchronize their actions in a multitasking environment. While CMM focuses on organizational process improvement, IPC is concerned with the technical aspect of enabling processes to exchange data and coordinate execution.
