It is 400 miles taking this route:

From London, you will either start off on M1 to The NORTH or M40(N) towards BIRMINGHAM.

If you are taking M1:

  1. Take M1 to The NORTH to M6 BIRMINGHAM @ J19.
  2. Then take M6 to M6 TOLL to The NORTH WEST.
  3. Take M6 TOLL to The NORTH WEST back to M6 NORTH.

or, if you are starting off on M40:

  1. Take M40(N) BIRMINGHAM, from London, to M42(N) to The NORTH (to M6).
  2. Take M42 (briefly) around to M6 TOLL to The NORTH WEST.
  3. Then take M6 TOLL to The NORTH WEST around to M6 NORTH.

From north of Birmingham, where the two routes merge, you will take this route to Glasgow:

  1. Continue on M6(N) to Scotland, where the motorway continues as A74(M).
  2. Take A74(M) & M74 motorways to Glasgow.
