The Guinness Book of World Records claims that Ontario's Yonge Street is the world's longest street. It supposedly runs from Queen's Quay, which is next to Toronto Bay, to Atwood Avenue in Rainy River Ontario (approximately 1108 miles). It is designated as Highway 11 for much of its route, and has been known as the longest thoroughfare in Ontario.

Highway 11, however, is not designated as Yonge Street in many of the communities it serves, and some of those communities have designated an entirely different street as "Yonge Street."

Highway 17, which runs from the the Manitoba border to the western terminus of Highway 417, south of Arnprior, Ontario, is 1,964.0 km (1,220.4 mi) in length, and is considerably longer than the Yonge Street/Highway 11 designation.
