Why is new caliper leaking?

There are two reasons i know of . first the oring in the piston is either cut or twisted. The other is that the o ring on the piston is to small. The only cure is to replace it either way.

What are microscopic indentations?

Microscopic indentations are small depressions or grooves that are too small to be seen with the naked eye, typically on surfaces such as metals, plastics, or ceramics. They can affect the appearance, functionality, or properties of the material in various ways.

How do you collapse the caliper on the rear brakes of a 2003 Lincoln continental?

once you separate thecaliper from the brake pad, look at the piston, it should have two small indentations on the face. the piston screws in and out. you will need a tool to do this. this tool can be purchased at your local auto parts store. it is a cube shaped device with a square drive. insert the tool into the inserts and rottate the piston counter-clockwise until the piston bottoms out in the caliper.note- the tool you can purchase is usually made of aluminum or pot metal meaning you might get threeor four good uses out of it.

Ford Laser KE cylinder head specifications?

The only specs I can give is the amount of metal removed during machining. There are two 'witness' marks on the surface, small round indentations about 5mm diameter and about 1mm depth. Usually the head can be machined to this depth on most motors. However, Ford stresses that on E3,E5,B6 motors the head should be machined enough to take out only slight warp as taking off too much changes the valve timing. Chris

How can you increase the force a hydraulic device produces without increasing the size of the force you apply to the small piston?

You reduce the diameter of the small piston. Or reduce the diameter and increase the travel of the small piston if you want the large piston to maintain it's previous range of travel.

If one piston moves 10cm how far will the large piston move if the small piston has 100 N going down?

1000cm

In a hydraulic system the pressure on the large piston is the pressure on the small piston.?

In a hydraulic system, the pressure is the same throughout the system, so the pressure on the large piston is equal to the pressure on the small piston. This principle is known as Pascal's Law and is a key concept in understanding how hydraulic systems work.

What is Italian word for small piston?

How do you rebuild a cr500 motor?

Two stroke engines are very easy to rebuild. The transmission component is not. The typical rebuild of a two stroke engine consists of removing the cylinder and replacing parts on the piston assembly. Before you order any parts, inspect the cylinder wall for wear and marking. If the cylinder is damaged you will need to get it machined and then order an oversized piston and ring to go with it. If its not damaged, order a standard (or performace) top end rebuild kit wich comes with a piston, piston ring, piston pin, piston pin bearing, and gaskets. So, for your standard rebuild of the top end you would remove one of the snap rings on either side of the piston pin. This will allow you to push the piston pin out from the opposite side. Once the pin is out the piston will come off the connecting rod. Take note of the piston orientation for assembly. The piston pin bearing will now be accessable (you will find on the connecting rod where the piston pin attached the piston). Minor assembly of the piston prior to installation makes it a bit easier to assemble. Place the piston ring on the piston and align the gap with the small pin you will see in the ring groove (turn the piston ring until it falls into place). Install 1 of the snap rings in the piston where the piston pin slides through it. The piston is now prepped for installation. Place the new piston pin bearing in the connecting rod with some assembly grease to hold it. Place the new piston onto the connecting rod so the hole in the piston matches the hole on the connecting rod. Slide the piston pin through the piston, connecting rod, and into the other side of the piston until it contacts the snap ring you installed earlier. Install the last snap ring into the piston to hold the pin in place, cover the outsides of the piston in assembly grease and lower the cylinder onto the piston. If you don't have a piston ring compressor you can hold the piston ring tight to the piston with your fingers. If you encounter any resistance when your putting on the cylinder you can LIGHTLY press the piston ring into the piston with a small slot-head screwdriver. Once that is together you should look up the torque specs for your make/model or if your not that picky just tighten them up at your discretion. If your looking to do anything on the bottom end of the motor or in the transmission I would HIGHLY recommend getting it done at a shop. Unless you know what you are doing you will have a puzzle of gears and springs to put back together.

How wide is a small block Chevy piston?

Why is force exerted on a small piston multiplied when it acts on a larger pistion?

Suppose the smaller piston was 1 square cm and the large piston was 7 square cm. If you pushed on the small piston, the force would be multiplied 7 times on the large piston. The Hydraulic System is a system that uses liquids to transmit pressure and multiply force in a confined fluid. Hope this helped. (:

In a hydraulic system thr force exerted on the large piston is?

equal to the force exerted on the small piston. This is due to Pascal's Law, which states that pressure applied to a confined fluid is transmitted undiminished in all directions. As a result, the force applied on the large piston is distributed evenly throughout the fluid and is transmitted to the small piston, exerting an equal force on it.
