Transmission Lock-Up Control System Fault. Can be caused by:

  1. Low Transmission Fluid level
  2. Dirty transmission fluid
  3. Faulty torque converter cluth solenoid valve
  4. Torque converter clutch solenoid valve harness open or shorted
  5. Torque converter clutch solenoid valve circuit poor electrical connection
  6. Can also be overheating torque converter due to insufficent flow to the torque converter release cirsuit.
When the accelerator pedal is depressed (less than 2/8) in lock-up condition, the engine speed should not change abruptly. If there is a big jump in engine speed, there is no lock-up.
