It is R134a. Ford started the conversion in 1994 but not all Fords were using R134a that year. By 1996 all were using it. Look for a sticker on the A/C unit which lists the correct refrigerant. If you have R12 have it converted to R134a.

How do I bleed the cooling system on a Rover 45?

To bleed the cooling system on a Rover 45, start by ensuring the engine is cool and the coolant reservoir is filled to the appropriate level. Then, locate the bleed screw, usually found on or near the thermostat housing, and loosen it slightly using a wrench. Start the engine and let it run until the coolant begins to flow steadily from the bleed screw without air bubbles, then tighten the screw. Finally, check the coolant level in the reservoir and top it off if necessary.

Why is that cold in the room when using aircondition?

The reason people use air conditioning is to cool a room by cooling the circulating air in that room

How do you change coolant on 1997 Achieva?

If you want to simply remove the existing coolant and replace it with new, the procedure is very simple. If the cooling system needs to be flushed, do that first and then follow these steps to change coolant. 1. Uncap the coolant reservoir. Open lower drain plug. It is located on the lower edge of the radiator on the driver's side of the vehicle. Turn the plug several times to open the plug fully. It is made of plastic, so be careful when using any tools to turn it. 2. After the coolant has completely drained, close the drain plug. 3. Pour 50/50 water/coolant mix into the coolant reservoir. It will take a while for the reservoir to empty into the engine cooling system. 4. After adding approximately one gallon, start the engine. This will pull more coolant into the system. 5. Continue adding coolant until the level reaches and remains at the "full" level. 6. Cap the coolant reservoir.

How to add coolant to air conditioner?

You add coolant to the radiator system and you add freon to the a/c by using the low side, suction side (larger hose).............

What if you put in orange antifreeze in my 1996 ford tarus?

I would recommend you drain it out, flush the system, and install the correct green coolant that Ford recommends. Using the wrong coolant can damage parts.

How do you flush the coolant system on Renault laguna 1.8 1998?

To flush the coolant system on a 1998 Renault Laguna 1.8, first ensure the engine is cool and then remove the radiator cap. Drain the old coolant by opening the drain plug at the bottom of the radiator, allowing the fluid to flow into a suitable container. Next, close the drain plug, fill the system with a mixture of water and a cooling system flush product, run the engine until it reaches operating temperature, and then drain it again. Finally, refill the system with fresh coolant and bleed any air from the system by using the bleed valve, if present.

Can you mix cheap Coolant with your existing Coolant?

Yes, as long as you are using the correct coolant as recommended by the vehicle manufacture.

When you put water in the radiator and you leave the cap off while the car is running and the water comes back out while the car is running why does that happen?

Simply stated: The coolant system of your car is a pressurized system. When your engine is running it is generating heat causing the coolant to expand. Your radiator cap helps maintain the pressure in your coolant system, without it there the water as it heats will push it's way back out of the system. Even when you have the cap on the pressure will push coolant into the reservoir that is attached to the tube you can find coming out past the cap. When your engine cools the extra coolant is pulled back out of the reservoir into the cooling system. NOTE: You should always use the recommended coolant specified by your car manufacturer, using only water can possibly damage your engine.

Is it ok to use prestone coolant on your BMW x5?

Using Prestone coolant in your BMW X5 is not recommended, as BMW vehicles typically require a specific type of coolant that meets their standards, often a phosphate-free formula designed for their engines. Using the wrong coolant can lead to corrosion, reduced performance, and potential damage to the cooling system. It’s best to use BMW-approved coolant to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your vehicle. Always consult your owner’s manual for the manufacturer’s specifications.

What is meant by reverse flushing a cooling system?

Reverse flushing a cooling system involves using a specialized tool to force coolant through the system in the opposite direction of normal flow. This helps to dislodge blockages, debris, or contaminants that may be restricting the flow of coolant and affecting the cooling efficiency of the system. It is a maintenance procedure used to clean out the system and improve its performance.

What happens to your vehicle when you add the wrong coolant?

The remains of the old coolant can cause the new coolant to fail. Using the wrong type of coolant can also damage the engine.

What does it mean when I am using a lot of antifreeze?

It could be a number of things. If the car is producing a sweet smelling white exhaust smoke then the coolant is entering the combustion chamber and burning. This could be the head gasket, cracked cylinder walls, cracked cylinder head, or a clogged cooling system. If the coolant is dripping from anywhere other than the coolant resevoir overflow, there is a leak from the cooling system. Easiest way to find out is to have the cooling system pressure tested.
