On a 1982 Chevy 305 motor, the number one spark plug wire on the distributor cap is typically located at the front of the cap, directly corresponding to the number one cylinder, which is on the driver’s side at the front of the engine. When facing the engine from the front, the distributor rotates clockwise, so the subsequent spark plug wires follow that order. Be sure to verify the firing order, which is usually 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2 for this engine.
This motor has no distributor. It has a coil pack for each spark plug. There is no condenser.
Could be spark in the motor, or the distributor and rotor need to be replaced.
4.3? Follow the spark plug wires from the spark plugs, they will lead you right to the distributor.
Did you put power to the right terminals on the distributor? (one from battery, one from ignition) Did you run a ground strap to the engine? Good luck.
The number 1 cylinder is located at the front left of the engine block while FACING the engine. Follow the spark plug wire to the distributor a POW there it is.
If you look at the distributor of the car, sometimes they are marked with the cylinder number on the cap. Find number 1 and follow the spark plug cable to the spark plug. That will be No. 1 cylinder.
Is it a brand new distributor ? If not then replace the module and pick-up coil in the distributor that you have.
What is spark plug's position? tell me.
get the compression stroke up on the number 1 spark plug and look at the rotor inside the distributor cap to see if it points to the number 1 wire on the cap
The distributor cap is located where the spark plugs cables are connected .They go from the motor to the distributor cap.
If it has points in the distributor then it is 0.035 If it has an HEI distributor then it is 0.045
see if the coil is sparking to the distributor cap
