On top of the engine, drivers side.
... There is no carburetor in a '01 Buick... the last Buick to use a carburetor was in 1990. If you are talking about the throttle body, however, there is a butterfly valve inside, but the only way to get to it is to remove the throttle body.
directly on top of the throttle body intake
The Coolant Temperature Sensor on a 1993 & 1994 Buick LeSabre is located on driver's side of the car under the throttle body, It is screwed into the lower intake manifold. You cannot see it without first removing the throttle body since it is hidden under it. An electronic plug is clipped to the the end of the CTS.
To clean the throttle body on a 1997 Buick LeSabre with a 3.8L engine, first, ensure the engine is cool and disconnect the negative battery terminal. Remove the air intake duct to access the throttle body, then use throttle body cleaner and a soft cloth or a brush to gently scrub the inside, focusing on the throttle plate and any carbon buildup. After cleaning, reassemble the components, reconnect the battery, and start the engine to ensure proper operation. Always follow safety precautions and consult the vehicle's service manual for specific instructions.
The computer does it for you through the IAC valve Idle air control its under throttle body intake hose.
i believe so because they are the same body style
The idle air controller is almost always located on the throttle body. You can find the throttle body by following the throttle cable to where it connects to the engine. There are some(very few) vehicles that have the IAC motor elsewhere on the intake manifold though.
If its in the same location as my 96 Bonneville, It would be on the throttle body :) Almost Right below the ECM and above you're Thermostat, If you now how to rev you're car from under the hood by pulling the cable, its connected to that. :)
Attach a fuel pressure gauge at the throttle body on the top of the motor to determine fuel pressure. Gauge can be borrowed at auto zone and they can assist as well.
