FWD only gives power to front wheels and four wheel drive all the wheels get power to it. Now just if its AWD doesnt mean you get better power or acceleration if you know how to kick off with a clutch on your FWD can kick AWD cars butt. AWD gets better mpg because it uses less power then four wheel drive and AWD is alot better to drive during winter then RWD because weight of engine pushes down on wheels giving you grip. But AWD all the way for the winter driving.
