Most likely, the outside unit is dirty. If the unit can't get air through it then it will get way too hot. The fan has an overheat limit inside it that turns it off if it gets too hot. Also, the capacitor that helps power the fan could be weak causing it to overheat.

Why is air conditioner warm at idle and cold when car is moving?

There is not enough air moving across the condensor coil. You may have a inoperable fan, or the condensor could be pluged with debris. Check to see if the fan runs when the car is satationary, and rinse the condensor off with a hose.

Why does your 2001 Chevy tracker 2 keep blowing ac fuses when you turn it on?

This may or may not be the problem, but if your condensor fan has frozen up, it will blow the fuse every time. Both the Fan and the Condensor unit run off of the same fuse... I had the same problem, and i just unhooked the wiring harness where if plugs into the condensor fan for a little while so that the AC still worked while I found a replacement...

Where is the cooling fan relay located on a 1993 Acura Legend?

there is a rectangular box mounted on the drivers side of the radiator. open it up and the condensor fan is the second one from the drivers side. you can open up the square box also mounted on this rectangular box, and switch those relays. the one in the square box is the wiper relay, it is the same relay as the condensor fan relay. switch them and see if the wiper relay gets your fan to turn on. the condensor fan is the fan on the drivers side. for a full wiring schematic of the Legend, visit www.acura-legend.com/vbulletin, im 89aCuRa, goodluck.

Why makes my AC turn warm at idle and cold when driving?

Most likely cause is an inoperative condensor fan.

Why does your 2001 CRV almost overheat when idling with the AC on yet is fine on the freeway?

Most likely the electric cooling fan motor in front of the radiator is not working. When the AC is on the cooling fan motor pulls heat out of the AC condensor which is located in front of the radiator. When you are driving on the freeway enough air is forced through the condensor to keep the engine cool but when you stop there is no air moving through the radiator or condensor so no heat is being removed and the engine gets hot. When you have the AC on check to see if the radiator fan is on, if not then either the fan motor is bad or there is an electrical problem.

Why does the Electric cooling fan comes on when engine is cold?

When air conditioning or front defroster are turned on it will turn on A/C compressor which requires the A/C condensor to be cooled (via radiator fan).
