i have problem my dodge intrepid 97 v6 3.5 overheating just in the machine not a radiator system
In the 1998 Intrepid ES, 1684 indicates a problem with the catalytic converter. It probably is the same for the 2000.
i had the same problem with my 02 intrepid it was the idler pulley to the ac belt $19 to fix it.
The can become worn out over time.
200,000 miles is not a problem with normal maintenance.

I have a 1993 3.3l intrepid that's doing the exact same thing. I've had the crank sensor changed out, the cam sensor changed, checked all fuses and it's still doing it
Both bulbs are out, wiring problem, switch problem, fuse, relay.

I just had the same problem with my 95 intrepid and it was the sending unit that needed to be replaced.
I had the same problem in my 2000 Intrepid. I took it to the dealership and they said it was the oil sensor. I had just got the car so they replaced it, so I don't know hot to fix it, but tha tshould be the problem
