I had a similar problem. The rear hatch area was making an intermittent clicking noise. The battery went completely dead. I attached a charger and it wouldn't charge the battery, came up with an error code saying my battery was bad. So with a booster battery attached I could still hear the clicking. I popped the rear glass window using my key fob and heard an electric motor run briefly. I closed the hatch, no more clicking. I was then able to charge the battery. By the way, the entire rear hatch is coated in ice and it's about 20 degrees out.
Check your battery. Usually when you get the clicking sound that means the battery is dead or in need of charge.
== == == == Anyway, that should take care of the clicking. It worked for me. == ==
Low battery voltage .?
The clicking sound is your a/c unit trying to engage. I would have freon pressure checked first, if not, a/c unit may be bad
First thing that I would do is check the battery. The clicking sound is the selenoid on the starter. Usually that means the starter is bad. Isn't very hard to replace. Hope this helped.
If your 2002 Cadillac DTS won't start and there's no clicking sound, the issue may be related to the battery, starter, or ignition system. First, check the battery connections for corrosion and ensure the battery is charged. If the battery is fine, consider testing the starter and ignition switch. If these components are functioning properly, further diagnostics may be needed to identify any electrical or fuel system issues.

sounds to me like a really bad c.v joint or joints
The clicking sound behind the heater controls in a 2002 Ford Explorer is often caused by a faulty blend door actuator. This component controls the flow of air through the heating and cooling system, and when it malfunctions, it can create a clicking noise as it struggles to position the blend door properly. Another possibility is debris lodged in the actuator, which can also lead to the noise. If the sound persists or affects performance, it's advisable to have it inspected and repaired.
