low freon
With the ac off your clutch the outer non belt driven part will not be turning. When it is turned on it will start to spin.
low freon
To determine if the AC compressor is running and the clutch is engaged, listen for a clicking sound when the AC is turned on; this indicates the clutch is engaging. Additionally, observe the center of the AC compressor pulley; if the inner part spins while the outer part remains stationary, the clutch is engaged. You can also feel the refrigerant lines; if they are cold, the compressor is likely operating. If you notice no changes in temperature or airflow, the compressor may not be functioning properly.
AC Compressor clutch relay may be stuck. Remove the relay and see if the clutch releases.
I am having the same problem. Brought it to an AC specialist and they told me it was my heating/AC panel switch that was going bad. The clutch would not stay engaged because the AC on/off switch was bad.
Check the following............... 1. Freon levels. 2. Clutch to hub air gap. 3. Pressure switch. 4. A/C controller. 5. A/C clutch wire harness
You cannot change the compressor bearing, however, you can change the clutch bearing. Which one is bad? Is there a noise when the clutch is engaged, or not engaged?
Clutch possibly not engaged compressor maybe.
Most Likely Low With Freon.
Yes, the clutch on a Scion xB AC compressor can remain engaged even when the unit is off the car. The clutch engages when electrical power is supplied, allowing the compressor to operate. If the compressor is removed from the vehicle and is not connected to power, the clutch will typically be in a disengaged state, but its position may vary based on the specific design or condition of the compressor.
No ned to. Unless clutch is engaged (AC on) it freewheels-using no power.
easy if you have put power to clutch from battery and system is in vacuum and centure of clutch is turning with the motor in means to say your valve plate is dead in side compressor.
