Why would the air conditioning stop working when car stalled in pooled water?

The A/C compressor is clutch driven, when electricity is applied to a coil, it engages the clutch. Most likely the coil shorted out in the A/C clutch on the front of the compressor.

Where is the air conditioner clutch on a 2004 Chrysler Concorde?

On all cars, the air conditioner clutch is on the front of the air conditioner compressor. The clutch is a unit by itself, while it's mounted on the shaft which is part of the compressor. A belt drives the clutch, and the clutch (when engaged) drives the compressor. Clutches tend to be held on in odd ways, snap rings might be involved. Also a puller is usually needed. Don't head into this without checking the information for your specific car.

What keeps the car in gear?

A car is in gear when the clutch is engaged on the transmission

Why does a car stall when the clutch is engaged?

There are three common problems which are causing your car to stall when the clutch is engaged. These problems are either a worn out clutch plate, a warped pressure plate or disc, or a damaged throw out bearing.

Can you replace the AC clutch on a 2004 Honda accord without replacing the compressor?

My car is going through the same issue with the A/C. You CAN replace the compressor clutch without replacing the compressor, but the caveat is that you can't tell if the compressor is any good without a clutch. So basically you are gambling that the compressor will still be good by only replacing the clutch. Hope this helps!

Why would your car rattle when the clutch is not engaged?

There may be some worn gears/bearings in the transmission, but more likely it's the aligning bushing in the clutch disk.

If your car started stalling shortly after the AC stopped working and is still stalling after the throttle body was cleaned and ignition coil replaced could the AC problem have something to do with it?

The ac could be causing the problem. Turn the ac off, and watch the compressor clutch to see if it is not engaged. If it is then the compressor or clutch could be bogging the engine down.

Should the Car lose power when ac is on?

Some, yes. When the A/C is on, the clutch is engaged on the compressor and now the car motor needs to turn it via the belt. Typically, the smaller the engine, the more you will notice a power decrease when the A/C is turned on.

Why is air conditioner is making loud noise?

Could be the clutch is gone. If that is the problem, you can have just the clutch changed, but don't wait too long. If it is the bearing, then have to change the compressor. When it is running, you will see the clutch wobble. The clutch can be changed with the compressor on the car. There is room.

How do i know if the compressor is running on dodge neon 2000?

You have a cycling clutch compressor. Turn the AC on max, let the car for five minutes or so, go look at the compressor. You should see the clutch engaging and disengaging the compressor as the pressure builds and drops.

Can you just change the clutch on the ac compressor on 1995 eighty eight?

I am sure you can - but the clutch is abpout the same price as a rebuilt compressor. So last time i did this I bought the compressor, removed the cluth, and put it on my car compressor. I still have a compressor if I need one. Be sure your compressor is not locked up before you go buy anything.

What is the definition of the word engaged?

When two people are in a relationship and are soon to be married, they are engaged. Also, it means that something is in the ready position, such as the clutch of a car is engaged.
