This sounds like an older term referring to the older Chrysler Corp. 'Torgue-Flyte' automatic transmission. The torgue converter is the device that acts as the fliid coupling and torque multiplier connection between the engine and the automatic transmission of most of the older Chrysler Corp. vehicles. This device is supplied with transmission fluid by the front pump in the transmission and has a drive turbine that is mechanically connected to the engine crankshaft. This turbine spins with the engine when it is started and that motion forces the fluid to travel through the torque multiplier part of the converter to the driven turbine which is mechanically connected to the input shaft of the transmission. At idle speed the fluid force is low enough so that the vehicle does not move but as the engine speed increases, the fluid force increases, causing the driven turbine to begin to spin and that causes the clutch packs, bands, and planetary gears to operate based on the signals they get fron the shift lever linkage and the control valve body. This results in the vehicle moving. Good Luck!
sounds like a motor mount is broken or a transmition mount. have those checked.
