There is a product that looks like flat washers made of felt that you can fit over the battery posts that will prevent corrosion (don't remember what it's called, but available at your local auto aprts store or Walmart). You can also try putting a dab of grease on the battery posts and terminals after cleaning.

The grease will work best for you to help eliminate corrosion's. The point of putting grease on the terminals is to keep oxygen from coming in contact with the terminals and also help with keeping acid off the posts. When you clean the terminals use baking soda and water to neutralize the acid which will help for future corrosion

What is another name for corrosion?

i don't think there is another name for "corrosion", i mean there are different ways to define "corrosion". you can call it oxydation but is not the exact definition since is just a part of the process "corrosion". http://www.corrosionist.com/Corrosion_Fundamental.htm

What are some methods in minimizing corrosion among metals?

Metals are usually treated with a coating that helps minimize the forming of corrosion. Steel is treated to galvanize it from developing rust, which is a type of corrosion. Electroplating is another way to minimize corrosion in metals.

What are the condition required corrosion to take place?

Corrosion requires the presence of a metal, an electrolyte (usually water), and oxygen. Additionally, the metal must be in contact with another metal or material with different electrochemical properties, leading to the flow of electrons and the corrosion process. Temperature, pH, and other environmental factors can also affect the rate and extent of corrosion.

What is sacrification corrosion?

I think this should be 'sacrificial corrosion'. This is a method of protecting components made of one metal by locating another component made of another metal that is more subject to corrosion nearby. For example, galvanised iron, which is zinc-coated iron, undergoes sacrificial corrosion when it is exposed to impure water such as rain. Electrolytes in rain attack the zinc in preference to the iron. The zinc dissolves, eventually leaving the bare iron. However, at least for a time, the iron is protected.

How can you prevent the corrosion of iron?

One way to prevent the corrosion of iron is by applying a protective coating, such as paint or a corrosion-resistant metal coating. Another method is by using corrosion inhibitors, which are chemicals that can be added to the environment around the iron to slow down or prevent the corrosion process. Additionally, ensuring proper maintenance and regular inspection of iron structures can help identify any signs of corrosion early on and take appropriate actions to prevent further damage.
