you may be able to get it scanned for codes for free from the local parts store. Could be anything from TPS throttle position sensor to MAF mass air flow etc etc. Hard to know w/o knowing engine codes.
Yes, a loose shifter cable in your vehicle can cause issues with shifting gears.
RPM increases before shifting gears because the engine is working harder to provide the necessary power for acceleration. As the vehicle accelerates, the engine revs higher to reach the optimal power band, where it generates maximum torque and horsepower. This allows for a smoother transition between gears, ensuring that the engine remains in an efficient operating range after the shift. Additionally, higher RPM before shifting can lead to better performance and responsiveness.
If a transmission for a car becomes stuck between 1st and 2nd gear the fluid should be changed. Old fluid in a transmission can cause hard shifting and stuck gears.
the torque mount is usually on the bottom front of the engine and it keeps the engine from shifting to much when switching gears
The first cause of the jump out from one to other gear is the loose shifter fork, which connects the shifting linkage and gears of the transmission. The second cause is loose shifting linkage itself, which connects the gear shifting knob and shifting fork. The shifting linkage and shifting fork become loose due to the rapid changing of gears from one gear to other at high speed of vehicle. The third cause is the misalignment of shifting linkage to the shifting fork.
rough shifting of gears, slipping of gears, a burning smell from the engine may be symptoms of a bad trans axle
