there is a good chance the main vacuum supply line from the engine that feeds the HVAC system is broken or disconnected. Inspect the vacuum lines under the hood.
There may be something blocking the deflectors from sending air up there.

the middle vents only supply air from the ac unit using a separate in dash fan. the floor and defrost vents come only from the heater
some thing is probley cloging the vents take it appart and ckeck.
How easy is it to replace head gasket on 1994 firebird lt1 motor
Air blows from defroster vents when the heater is on because the vehicle's heating system is designed to direct warm air to the windshield and front side windows. This helps to clear fog or ice and improve visibility. The defroster function activates a specific mode in the climate control system that prioritizes airflow to these vents, ensuring that the driver and passengers have a clear line of sight.
Dont know what the problem is but i can tell you its a vacuum leak . the vents are vacuum operated and require air pressure to change between the vents and floor. the defroster is default setting you may have a vacuum line that has come undone but all i know is its somewhere under the dash.
thats because your blower went out
The 1984 Buick uses vacuum lines to change air flow from defroster to ac vents. Check the entire vacuum system for leaks.
My ac blows only in the defroster and not any of the other vents i have 98 ford windstar 3.8 v6
I have exactly the same problem on my 2000 Still looking for the answer
I think your refering to the door in the heater housing that directs air to vents, floor or defroster vents, there is also a blend actuator that mixes heated or cooled air to give the correct temperature from the selector.
