If the check engine light does not come on when your truck dies it's probably the idle air control valve
i have a 1988 Ford Bronco XLT 5.0 4x4. The truck will start and idle for about 15 to 30 seconds then acts like it has no fuel and dies.
to turn on the high idle you must run a wire to the ecm /www.kennedydiesel.com:.webloc if you go to this link it will give you the instructions to do it. I did it on my truck and it works great !!! if you have a car starter with an available output you can connect it through that and run you high idle from that.
check the idle speed motor
If a Zx2 shudders and dies out at stops and idle, the idle might need adjusted. If the idle is set too low, it will not maintain enough power.
For non fuel injected models, on the side of the carburetor there is an idle screw. Turning the screw slightly will raise the idle on your Chevy truck.
NO it makes no difference.
No, but the idle air control motor is on the back side of the throttle body.flat connector iac is round in shape there is a small piston inside with a cone on it that closes and opens the idle air hole on the t body as the computer needs more or less air to control idle so if your truck stumbles at idle or dies out coming to a stop remove it and clean the gunk out of the hole first if it still does it replace it
As far as I can tell, Iowa is not a no-idle state.
Could be low idle speed setting. Always give plenty of throttle when releasing clutch pedal
adjust the Idle screw... im not sure where it is on the 1991 model but it exists...
Why is that my idle is low what cost that to do it
