to me that is actually the right thing to do so that other vehicles are able to see that there is a vehicle there and to be careful and cautious. the only way it could be dangerous is when other drivers attention is on your lights instead of the road. most people are just nosey. lol. Drivers with little or no visibility behind you may think you are still on the road and follow you. Smack!
