I'm not a mechanic but had a similar problem check vacuum hoses and also check the automatic idle speed control/motor fancy name but a small part should cost around 70 bucks if it is the aic you should be getting a check engine light and code 35 hope this helps
if it isn't showing a check engine light it could be a fuel pump or crank sensor.
Fuel pump: Low or no fuel pressure
Crankshaft position sensor: weak or no spark when cranking over
I'm thinking it's the fuel pump,I need to know where it is and how to change it
You should bring it in for service to a trained mechanic. The airbag light comes on when the computer has detected a malfunction.
no that not it
this is what ours was doing we are told it is the fuel pump. we are having ours replaced.
On most cars the engine turns a belt. This belt turn the alternator(to charge the battery) and turns the coolant pump ( to keep the engine cool). Check the belt if it is loose or broken and fell off. Don't drive if the car is overheating as you will ruin your engine
The light turns itself off if all tires are at the proper pressure (36 psi) and there are no sensor faults. If the light stays on, you will need to have the system checked for codes by someone with a scan tool.
All automatic transmission have a fluid pump. The pump is usually mounted on the front of the transmission, and turns with the engine.
security lock out had same problem with our 2004 grand am
check the spark plugs. may not be catching fire.
It depends, if the 98 has 14" wheels (mine does) No, but if they have 15" they should, though the rim offset is slightly tighter, slight tire rub on full turns (parking) front rims (and tires) {according to other posts on Dodge talk.com} should be a matched pair TF
If your van is equipped with heated mirrors, the same switch that turns on the rear window defroster turns them on.If your van is equipped with heated mirrors, the same switch that turns on the rear window defroster turns them on.
If it's the solenoid that is sticking you can hit it with a hammer while someone turns the key, but for safety reasons I don't recommend it. Beyond that...no. If it was a manual transmission you could turn the key to run and push start it by putting it in second and dropping the clutch while someone pushes it.
