Multiply length by width by depth (in feet). Divide that number of square feet by 27 to get cubic yards and then allow for a little extra.

(20 X 40 X .25 = 200 / 27 = 7.4 yards)

The answer is spot on correct however with 30 years of concrete experience I would not recommend a 3 inch thick slab unless you have very light vehicles. Our normal pour for garage slabs or driveways is a 4 inch pour using 3000 psi concrete with air entraining. This will give you a slab that you can depend on for delivery vehicles and others that may use your drive.

How much concrete do you need for a slab 45x65 inches?

Oops . . . please repost your question and include the depth of the concrete. You have to have all 3 dimensions in order to calculate volume (Cubic Yards of concrete).

How much concrete for a 10'x10'x4 slab?

1.23 cubic yards. Adjusting for safety, you should order a minimum of 1.5 cubic yards. 1.5 cubic yards is a whole lot of mixing. Most concrete compnay's have a minimum order of 3 to 7 cubic yards of concrete on each load, so if you need less than five yards, it might start to get more expensive. If you have another small project you can do at the same time with the additional concrete, that might be a great way to stretch your dollars. To calculate other structures you might need, I'll post a link to a calculator.

How much concrete do you need for patio 12x12x3?

To calculate the amount of concrete needed for a patio that is 12 feet long, 12 feet wide, and 3 inches deep, first convert the depth from inches to feet: 3 inches is 0.25 feet. The volume in cubic feet is then calculated as 12 ft x 12 ft x 0.25 ft, which equals 36 cubic feet. For a standard estimate, you'll need approximately 1.33 cubic yards of concrete, since there are 27 cubic feet in a cubic yard. Therefore, you should order about 1.5 cubic yards to account for spillage or settling.

Suppose that you must order concrete for a sidewalk 53 ft by 1 ft to a depth of 8 in How much concrete is required?

That is 53x1 x 8/12 = 35.33 cubic feet. That is 1.31 yards and weighs 5300 pounds

How many yards of concrete is needed for a pad 15'x15'x4''?

15X15X.33(4/12 there is 4 inches in a foot therefor 4" is .33 of a foot) equals 74.25 cf of concrete divide by 27 (three demensional object for yards) 2.75 Cubic Yards. if you try to order .75 cubic yards of concrete you will be laughed at, just order 3 cubic yards and make a entrance path. good luck.

Advice or tips on mainting my driveway.?

There are several things you need to do to maintain your driveway and keep it from cracking. First, remove any vegetation that is close to your driveway. Trees and bushes may send roots out that will eventually grow underneath the concrete and cause it to crack. You should also edge your driveway. Make sure your water disposal systems are kept in good working order. Water flowing under your concrete can cause freezing in the winter. Finally, use a concrete water sealant.

How much does a square foot of concrete cost?

There is no way to calculate cost for a square foot of concrete (?" w x ?" l). In order to calculate cost you need to first calculate volume which requires a third dimension of height (?" w x ?" l x ?" h). Concrete is usually sold by the cubic yard (36" wide x 36" long x 36" high). Another factor in calculating price of concrete is distance to delivery location.

How many miles is 4.36 million yards of concrete?

2477-miles! 1 yard of concrete has length of 3-feet. One (US) mile is 5,280-ft. In order to calculate total miles we multiply 4,360,000 yards of concrete by 3 to figure out how many feet we have. Then we take that amount and divide it by 5,280 to arrive at how many miles that comes out to. The equation would look like this: (4360000x3)/(5280)= 2477
