it is stuck in 1st and the shifter is broken SOMEWHERE it might even be inside the trans. their are shifting forks inside the trans.

Usually it depends on the piercing, but if its your ears you should be fine but just try not to touch it alot. If its not your ears you can shower but be careful not to get it caught on anything or move it alot.
