All initial lip piercings have to have a titanium 1.2 x 10 mm stud ( it's about the size of a small pea) then after two weeks the piercer should change it to a smaller stud or gem depending on swelling and healing :D
Yes
At places like WalMart you can get it free but you have to pay for the stud. (They have to put the stud in so your piercing it will not close up.
You have to keep this piercing very clean, to prevent infection,so you should not put anything in your nose.
The stud the piercer put in it should be long enough to allow for swelling. Also, if you put a 16g (which is smaller than a 14g) in it, then the hole itself may become smaller but with some work can be stretched back out to a 14g or larger.
It sounds like it isn't healed yet. Give it more time and be sure that you are keeping it clean.
Yes. When smaller jewelry is put into a piercing that was pierced at a larger gauge, the piercing will shrink slightly to accommodate it. However, you must be careful when shrinking piercings. If you put in a smaller stud or piece of jewelry then the hole size, it can sink inside of it. Lips are notorious for having small studs sink inside. Ask a piercer for advice when downsizing piercings to be sure that sinking doesnt happen. Sometimes just putting a bigger ball on the end of the stud will keep a smaller post in a piercing, so it doesnt sink.
Get to your piercer asap and get another nostril screw in there before you loose the piercing, they can put it back in with an insertion taper but time is critical so get on it.

I have both my lip and belly button pierced. I had my belly button pierced with a hoop and my lip pierced with a bar/stud. The belly button was more irritating then the lip because a hoop piercing requires the piercer to clamp it shut and fiddle around with a new pierced part instead of just screwing a ball on. I recommend any new piercings to be with a bar/stud as it is quicker and less irritating. Put it this way, I'm going for a 2nd lip piercing and not another belly button piercing ;)
yeah you should be able to, as long as the lip ring is the same thickness as the stud you had your nose pierced with, otherwise the ring will not go through. :) hope this helped.
You should wait 6-8 weeks before changing the stud.
Yes they do. I dont have one but i have a friend that first got is chin pierced and it was a stud right under the lip.a couple monthes ago he put a ring there so its a lip ring now. Also, the best choice for your first lip piercing is a stud, as a ring could alter the shape in which the initial piercing heals and could affect the positioning if you later decide to have a stud.
