If you are talking about your belly button..then it's probably because your piercing was infected and didn't have the proper treatment prior to taking it out. Same thing happened to me.. it was such a pain but after a few months it went down so it should go back to normal..Hope this helps :)

(If this had actually been from an infection, the bump would have gotten worse and severe problems would have occurred. If you suspect an infection in a piercing you should never take the jewelry out as this will prevent proper drainage and create an abscess, which can become septic.)

If the bump has formed on the outside of a piercing during healing, it is likely hypertrophic scarring caused by irritation or improper jewelry. There are many treatments scattered across the internet for this problem, just use common sense when choosing one to try.

You have got a 'bump' on your nose from your nose piercing and you need to get rid of it ASAP what is the quickest solution and how long will it take to go?

I used mederma - it's a scar healing ointment. Basically that bump is a keloid, which is a type of scar. It took a few weeks, maybe a month to go away. I applied every night and washed thoroughly in the morning. Make sure to moisturize the area and don't pick at it - touch it if you haven't washed your hands!

What does it mean when you have a bump near your new piercing?

A bump near a new piercing is most likely a Keloid. A Keloid is basically a scar cause by condensed scar tissue from the piercing. I have a few due to piercings, and I've noticed that as time goes on, the Keloids become less noticeable and irritating. It's very common and nothing to worry about. However, if it begins to enlarge or hurt really bad, seek medical attention as you may have an infection.

Does a Monroe piercing leave a scar?

sure it does. How badly you scar depends on how long you have the piercing, how well it healed and how badly you personally scar.

Will a piercing scar if you have only had it three months?

As long as there is jewellery in the piercing the piercing will not scar, it will form new tissue that makes up the piercing. If the jewellery is removed before the piercing is allowed to heal completely this tissue will join together and form scar tissue.

Does lip piercing scar?

Well its not necessarily that they scar, but its almost as if the hole where the piercing was never goes away. Yes the hole closes, but you can still see where the piercing was.

How noticeable are the scars from a bridge piercing?

Well as long as there has been no issues with the healing of the piercing, and the piercing has been allowed to season (is over a year old) the entry and exit points will be about the same skin tone as the surrounding tissue. So the "scar" wouldn't be too noticeable.
