To determine if your nose ring has closed all the way, gently press the area around the piercing. If you feel no tenderness or see no redness, it may be fully closed. Additionally, if you can’t see or feel the piercing hole, it’s likely healed. However, if you suspect it might be closing or still healing, consult a professional piercer for advice.

NO! Don't take out a nose ring at all before its healed. This normally takes 2-4 months before its healed enough to change it. Wait at LEAST 1 year to leave it out for any amount of time. Hope this helps! =D
I've had my nose done, and now i have my tongue. I say that the nose hurts more, but it depends on the people, but the tongue is one of the piercing that hurt less.. The nose creates mucous every day and even more during a cold. The nasal passages are intended to bring the mucous to the outside, assisted by gravity or by blowing the nose. So yes, when you remove the ring you will be able to blow mucous (snot) from the hole or it can form bubbles. But, for your health, I'd say leave out the ring when you have a cold. Buy lots of tissues. And wash the area frequently to keep it clean.
