I dont think it is ive had mine done for 2 years and i never remembering that happening. it was swollen of course and maybe a tad bit red but it never had a greenish circle. Either the jewelery you're using is fake or its getting infected. Go see your piercer.
visit your ear piercing salon where you got it pierced and if they can't do anything to help then they will refer you to your GP so visit your doctor and he/she will tell you what to do. Swelling is not uncommon with some piercings, this can be due to the type of piercing and the location of the piercing. Oral piercings around the mouth will swell this is due to the nature of the tissue that was pierced. Eyebrow piercings can swell and even bruise, this is not uncommon again due to the nature of the tissue being pierced. Your aftercare guide should instruct you on how to treat localized swelling for the piercing you have. Ultimately if you are in doubt if the swelling is normal go back and see your piercer.
Swelling, redness, whitish/yellow discharge and itchiness is normal. If there is greenish/yellow disharge around the piercing it may be infected. Don't take out the jewelry because then then piercing will close and trap the infection. Go to your doctor and he may prescribe medications or ointments.
A fair amount of blood and a lump around the piercing (it would be filled with congealed blood.) Also, expect swelling.
I don't have my tongue pierced but im guessing that its probably ok. You should asked the person that pierced it.
Well it should look like a tongue with a barbell running through it, the distention (mild swelling) around the piercing is normal and no cause for concern
Not all tongues are created equal, the barbell needs to be sized for the tongue to which it is going to be put into with room allowed for swelling. This will all be done when you see your professional body piercer for your appointment
I have both my lip and belly button pierced. I had my belly button pierced with a hoop and my lip pierced with a bar/stud. The belly button was more irritating then the lip because a hoop piercing requires the piercer to clamp it shut and fiddle around with a new pierced part instead of just screwing a ball on. I recommend any new piercings to be with a bar/stud as it is quicker and less irritating. Put it this way, I'm going for a 2nd lip piercing and not another belly button piercing ;)
Not necessarily. If you get pierced with a gun or wear jewelry that's too short, it can become embedded because it doesn't allow for swelling. You want to move the jewelry as little as possible. Moving it around introduces new bacteria into the piercing so it can increase the risk of infection. Some movement is inevitable such as when you sleep or clean the piercing but just be careful :)
I just got mine pierced and it cost around $45. It costs $35.
Ahhh No. You need to have the piercing for a minimum of a year to be able to walk around with a pierced navel without having jewellery in it.
That you should be ready for swelling. When i got my done i got sonic ice and just kept it around because it kept the swelling down. It isn't the most painful i had maybe just a little uncomfortable at times. But its a very common piercing
yes it will after a while i had the bottom side of my lip pierced and re pierced about four times now, at first it left a dark mark were the piercing used to be but now its just a small hole...barley noticeable.
