The white crescent at the proximal end of the nail is called the lunula. It is the visible part of the matrix, which is the tissue responsible for nail growth. The lunula appears lighter in color than the rest of the nail due to the thickness of the underlying tissue. Its size and visibility can vary among individuals.
A thin pointed piece of metal is commonly referred to as a "point" or "pointed end." These can be found on various objects such as nails, needles, or awls and are typically used for piercing or puncturing materials.
first have your manicurist do a white french tip... then have them paint the rest of your nail black without getting the black nailpolish on the white part... or 1. clean your nails using nail polish remover 2. put on a base coat, let dry, add two more coats 3. once the base coats have dried, paint one thin layer of black polish on your nails 4. let dry 5. apply 2 more thin coats, letting each dry completely 6. I would suggest applying the white strip the next day, so you don't smudge. 7. The next day, put nail liners on your nail tips, you can find these at any drug store, follow the directions included. 8. Use a thin brush to paint your tips white, let your nails dry, then slowly remove the linear. 9. add 2 top coats, 10. let dry!! It does take ALOT of time and patience, but the end result is awesome!!! good luck

A nail cutter is a lever because it uses a pivot point to apply force at one end to cut the nail at the other end.
A nail is a pin-shaped, sharp object of hard metal, typically steel, used as a fastener. Nails can be pointed, non sharp, or even so thin that the eye has a hard time seeing. They are also called needles. They are very sharp used for nitting, and sewing clothes. a nail is also the hard bit on the end of your fingers and toes
The lower end of a nail is made pointed to make it easier to penetrate through materials like wood. The pointed end helps to reduce resistance and make driving the nail into the material more efficient. Additionally, the pointed end helps to prevent splitting of the material as the nail is being hammered in.

The end of a finger or toe is called a "nail bed." It is the area where the nail grows and is attached to the tip of the finger or toe.
I'm assuming you mean nails that you hammer in, not fingernails. They're thin on one end so that they are hammered in more easily, because when you apply force to an object and the object has a small surface area (such as the end of a nail) that force is exerted on a tiny area, thus goes in more than if you applied the same pressure on a larger surface area, for the force would just 'spread out' equally. And further it's thicker because then there's more grip, it's stronger etc.
