which end of a magnet will pick up an iron nail?
To magnetize an iron nail using the stroking method, you can stroke the nail with one end of a magnet in a consistent direction many times. This allows the domains in the iron to align in the same direction, creating a magnetic field in the nail. The nail will then act like a magnet with a north and south pole.

To magnetize an iron nail, align the nail along the magnetic field lines of a magnet and rub one end of the magnet against the iron nail in the same direction multiple times. This process will cause the domains in the iron nail to align in the direction of the magnetic field, creating a magnetized iron nail.
Use a D battery, connect the negative and positive to separate copper wire. On the other end of the wire, wrap it around an iron nail (make sure there is space between the wire) and there you go!!
it has no north or south end its neutral so it goes to both but other magnet has both N & S so it only connects to others N & S so = nail=E mag = N & S so E=N & S but S=N & E so S only goes to the N side of the magnet
When turned on, yes they do. Even after turned off, some of the charge from the electricity involved will have slightly changed the material that is magnetized. The poles will be there, yet seldom very strong.
When an iron piece is quite away from the magnet ,i.e, not present in magnetic field of the magnet then the iron piece is in neutral state ,i.e, there is no north & south pole . But , as soon as the iron piece interacts with magnetic field of magnet ,i.e, near to the magnet then the north pole of magnet make the nearer part or end of the iron piece south pole & simultaneously other part of iron becomes north pole . Similarly if south pole of the magnet interacts with iron piece then that end/part becomes north pole & other end becomes north pole . Now this iron piece has north & south pole .So iron piece is now converted into magnet which can attract other iron pieces in similar way as explained before .
A piece of any magnetic material, like iron or steel (a nail, knitting needle, bolt etc.) is take and placed on a bench or a table. A bar magnet is brought close to the magnetic material (say an iron piece AB). One end of the bar magnet is stroked against it, moving from end A to end B of the iron piece. When the bar reached end B, it is lifted and the stroke is repeated from A to end B. This procedure is repeated several times, keeping two things in mind: (a) The same pole of the bar magnet should be used every time (b) Strokes should be in the same direction By stroking the iron piece with the north pole of the bar magnet, end A becomes the North Pole, and end B the South Pole. If you bring the South Pole of any magnet close to end A now, what will you observe? You will observe that the two attract, which simply proves that end A acquires the North Pole.
well you better should not call it fake magnet, you may call it synthetic magnet, cause its not actually fake its synthethic, well a synthetic magnet is a magnet which is not originally in nature of a magnet, it may have been maded a magnet by electricity, but these magnet have temporary life of attracting magnetic stuffs like iron, to prepare a synthetic magnet take any thing that attracts to a magnet, for example take iron needle and wrap a copper wire on it round and round, then give the electrical charges to the end of wires, i.e one end positive charge and other end negative charge, charge it for sometime and take the needle out of it, now you needle is a synthetic magnet.
To make an iron bar into a magnet you need to get a bar magnet and stroke the iron one way when you get to the end of iron take the magnet off and jump it back to the start and stroke repeat this several times and your bar will soon become magnetic. This is only temporary, therefore the iron will become normal after the magnetic field rubs off. This means that making iron into a magnet is indeed a physical change.
If you hold the end of one (A) to the center of the other (B), one of two things will happen. Either A will attract B, in which case A is the magnet, or it won't, which makes B the magnet. The secret lies in the fact that a magnet is just as attracted to the center of an iron piece, but a piece of unmagnetized iron will have no attraction to the center of a magnet-- they are magnetic off the ends, and the center is neutral.
