It depends how frizzy it is but pulling hair back tight, perhaps using a styling mousse, and letting the hair "be itself" on the other side would be fine. You can also have the ponytail up high, and put something decorative like a scarf or flower on the ponytail holder. Another choice is to barrett the upper half of hair in the back so the just the hair above the ears is pulled back. But don't consider curly/frizzy hair a disadvantage. It's been my experience the straight hair people wish it was curly and vice-versa, so somebody somewhere wishes they had your hair :)
