If you have layers then peeking out from underneath or if your going for blonde on darker hair do not have it on the top layer as the roots will come through quickly. Preferably at the front, in the fringe or peeking out under the layers/at the back.

No, when the hair starts growing there will be a line of demarcation. You have to re-color your hair in order for it to maintain the color you want. It stays only on the spot previously colored and will not magically spread onto new growth.
They can be different colors, but mostly a tan-like color. Like a human that doesnt tan much. Also when there is a spot on the cat like a spot of black hair, like dogs it may be the same color as the hair orclose to it.
