Why do young people love tattoos?

I am not much into the body piercings at all, however tattoos are about what they represent. I put alot of thought and consideration when I am thinking of a tattoo, and it is a reflection of the inside of me being physically portrayed on the outside. Because the feeling of being a Survivor, the love for my children, the fight for survival has become so intense that it has to come out, and I get a tat.

There is no one answer specificly... each person has his or her own reason!

Some people think tattoos are attractive and cover themselves front and back, legs and arms. The small ones that some women sport on their ankles can really be nice looking, such as a tiny dolphin, but most employment agencies or work situations consider them unprofessional and have summarily fired people for having even the smallest and delicate of tattoos. It just depends on the taste of the individual and the level of professionalism required in a work environment.

show other people that they arent scared of a little pain. that they wernt scared of permiment art.

There are many reasons why teenagers may decide to get piercings and tattoos. Some get body modifications for the sole sake of decorating themselves, however, the main reason for teens (especially younger ones) to get body jewelry and tattoos is typically to go for a look or image they are inspired by. This includes, but is not limited to: the typical rebellious teenager look, the look that their particular group of friends goes for, or even a celebrity or band that influences them.

Keep in mind though, teenagers are not the only ones who want piercings and tattoos!

A very complex question you have there, and the answer to which is very different for a lot of people. For most all people whom truly love tattoos (and don't wear them for socially accepting fashion reasons or for their trendiness), they physically allow you to wear your thoughts, beliefs, interests quite literally on your sleeve and allow people who are into art to wear pieces from artists that they respect on a professional and personal level with them for the rest of their lives. They are the one thing in your life that cannot be taken away by anyone, and they allow you to be more comfortable in your own skin since having plain old skin is quite boring for most of us. We do it for personal reasons, and some do it out of plain masochism...it all just really depends.

For those out there who just see the dollar signs and the glitz and glamor that they portray on t.v., they will never understand tattoos for what they are since they are too preoccupied with greed and turning an industry that up to early '90's was still greatly snubbed by most people, and tattoo artists were those "freaks" with the tattoos and the piercings that everyone would think of us as most likely unemployed losers...now you have straight laced types getting into it just for the simple fact that it's a dollar to be made right now and are prostituting what we do.

It's really not just young people...it's people of all ages. And they love them because it's a form of art, someone else's art on your body. Usually the tattoo also means some thing to the person.
