Yes there are hundreds if not thousands of coconut palms growing here in Cocoa Beach Florida. I have one myself. There are multiple varieties as well here. Most are Jamaican Talls, some Maypans, and a few Maylasians. We lost quite a few in the extreme cold spells the last two years but most survived and are doing quite well.

As far as I know, the only coconut palms in Israel were several planted in an experimental plot in Kibbutz Ketura, they lived about 10 years and only one immature fruit was produced...after dry spells and a couple of rare freezes they have all but gone...I suspect that in some very sheltered valleys of Ein Gedi you may be able to grow one with winter protection.
