Well, I don't know if your knee cap can just flip upside down one day, but maybe if you got seriously injured on your knee. I was born with it like that, so maybe it's just something you have always had, you just haven't noticed

I want to explain this. I am a 27 year old female. This afternoon, I was laying on my couch with my knees bent. I was doing some minor leg exercises and I noticed my knee clicked when I extended my leg. It didn't hurt much, it just felt awkward. I wrote it off as a fleeing glitch in my body.
