ADHD is a made up illness, to explain an active mind in children. Remember pharm drug companies make money by keeping you on drugs and thats just what they try to do.
A good example of this is the billions given for cancer research every year. But only drugs can be legally called a cure. The only thing they want is to take as much of your money as they can before you die. The FDA is just a division of the drug companies that own our political system
No; no study has linked ADHD with having a lower IQ than average. ADHD affects motivation and focus which do not have a direct impact on intelligence. There are certain celebrities with ADHD who credit their success to having the disorder.
it affects the way people think and percieve things. it doesnt make them stupid most people with ADD are very bright and most people dont kno that. it might be hard for them to understand somethings but when explained another way they will totaly understand it. they just thing differently than other people. People with ADHD have it because of brain abnormalities--they have certain smaller brain structures (such as the prefrontal cortex), delayed activation, less activation in areas that would normally be part of activity (for example, use other parts of the brain rather than the primary structure for a task), and they have impaired neurotransmitter transportation. So signals are really impaired in an ADHD brain, so even though people with ADHD have (on average) above average intelligence, they have a hard time coordinating all those smarts. More cognitively, it affects the way they plan and execute goal oriented tasks (i.e., doing homework, making appointments... getting out the door...). The above person is right, they have to approach things different ways (likely because they are compensating with better functioning brain regions) but they are really intelligent.
ADHD is disorder resulting from an underdevelopment of certain regions of brain, particularly the areas that control focus, memory, and impulse. ADHD affects only the brain.
Yes. Some individuals with ADHD capitalize on their charisma, creativity, energy and charm--their are many famous examples. Find Your Own Process for Learning and Performance; ADHD at CSS.
yes, he does . not only this disorder but, Jason has ADHD.
ADHD affects the frontal lobe (brain) but also more systems
No. It can be related to brain dysfunction, and issues related to "lesions" in various areas of the brain, (If I remember correctly, the prefrontal cortex, language centers, and frontal lobe among others...Check out Dr. Amen as presented on public t.v.).
Well, the brain differences are actually what affects ADHD ;). The primary area affected in ADHD individuals (according to numerous recent brain imaging studies) is the prefrontal cortex. The volume (size) is smaller in ADHD children; this size can catch up (though slower) with peers and is a sign of disappearance of the disorder (meaning the brain developed fully and the adult with not have ADHD); if development doesn't catch up (the prefrontal cortex remains small) the adult will continue to exhibit ADHD. Prefrontal cortex is the hub for deliberate thoughts and actions--it's where your motor cortex (your conscious control of muscles) is centered, along with functions such as attention, planning, working memory, set-shifting, etc.. Explains a lot of ADHD, huh?
ADHD is genetic. If you think they learned it somewhere, then that is a behavior disorder and not ADHD.
add or adhd the front cortex is affected. then that leads to more self esteem problems as they get olde.
people are effected by others with ADHD just the same as your best friend has effected you. If you don't like this answer and you are ADHD g-mail me at dedofam@gmail.com
he didn't have adhd. people disaplined their children then therefore adhd didn't exist.
There is no specific collective noun for people with ADHD. People with ADHD are people, any collective noun for people that is suitable for the situation will work; for example:a class of studentsa crowd of peoplea staff of employeesa group of peoplea virtue of patientsa trio of people
People with ADHD do not need a specific diet to manage their condition. ADHD is a hardwired condition best overcome by either medication or cognitive behavioral interventions.
