Cellular Respiration releases chemical energy from sugars and other carbon based moecules to mae ATP when oxygen is present. It is an aerobic process. As for where the energy comes from, the Krebs cycle jumps in.The Krebs Cycle produces molecules that carry energy to the second part of cellular respiration. Hope this helped! -Biology Textbook

The aerobic respiration is a high energy yielding process. This occurs in all of our cells for energy we will need.

During the process of aerobic respiration as many as 38 molecules of ATP are produced for every molecule of glucose that is utilized.

Thus aerobic respiration process breaks down a single glucose molecule to yield 38 units of the energy storing ATP molecules and uses 2ATP to start the process.

The process of anaerobic respiration is relatively less energy yielding as compared to the aerobic respiration process. During the alcoholic fermentation or the anaerobic respiration (represented in the first equation) two molecules of ATP (energy) are produced. for every molecule of glucose used in the reaction.

Similarly for the lactate fermentation (represented in the second equation) 2 molecules of ATP are produced for every molecule of glucose used. Thus anaerobic respiration breaks down one glucose molecule to obtain two units of the energy storing ATP molecules.

Cells harvest energy from food by cellular respiration. This process is called glycolysis which is when your digestive system breaks food down to release the glucose molecules.

What is the opposite of photosynthesis?

The opposite of photosynthesis is cellular respiration. Photosynthesis stores up energy in the form of complex sugars while cellular respiration breaks down these sugars in order to harvest their energy. The fact that they are opposites are reflected in their chemical equations, as shown below. Photosynthesis: 6CO2 + 6H2O + light energy --> 6C6H12O6 + 6O2 Cellular respiration: 6C6H12O6 + 6O2 --> 6CO2 + 6H2O + 34ATP

What is the process through which organisms obtain and release energy?

The process is respiration (cellular respiration). It breaks down the compounds called carbohydrates to release the energy stored there (which almost always originally came from photosynthesis).

How is cellular resperation related to photosynthesis?

Photosynthesis uses light water and carbon dioxide to produce glucose. The glucose produced is then used, with oxygen, in cellular respiration to produce ATP. Chemical Equations Photosynthesis 6CO2+6H2O ------> C6H12O6+6O2 Cellular Respiration C6H12O6+6O2 ------> 6CO2+6H2O+38 ATP NOTE *Plants use photosynthesis and cellular respiration. *Animals just use the glucose they obtain from food to perform cellular respiration. *This is the formula for aerobic cellular respiration not anaerobic which doesn't use oxygen and produces lactic acid in humans.

The process by which cells withdraw energy from glucose is called?

It is False..... if you were doing a review and reinforce for a middle school homework assignment and you needed to change the word to make it true ... you would make it respiration

Do cellular respiration needs sunlight?

Yes they definitely do because through respiration they break down the food made by photosynthesis to obtain energy and energy is needed all the time. so respiration is carried out all the day and is not affected by the presence or absence of light although photosynthesis only occurs in the presence of light.
