I will try to answer this as best as I can- though I'm not entirely sure what it is you're asking.Nucleic acids are what make up DNA and RNA. DNA and RNA is found on chromosomes from your parents. The DNA is made up of understood letters- A,T,C and G. The Biology community uses these letters to help represent parts of the coding. RNA reads the DNA that codes for eye color and sends a message for the cell to start making protein accordingly. So, if the nucleic acid in which your DNA is made up of codes for blue eyes, you will get blue eyes, same thing for brown.

How coined the term nucleic acids?

Nucleic acids were named as such because they were first found in the cell nucleus. Robert Brown first coined the term nucleus when he discovered the cell nucleus in 1831. In about 1869 a phospohrus containing substance was found in the nucleus and called nuclein by Johann Friedrich Miescher. This was changed to nucleic acids over time as the acidic nature was discovered. The original "nucleus" came from Robert Brown. Thomas Avery discovered it was the genetic carrier in the 1940s.

What does bials orcinol determine in nucleic acid?

Bial's test is used to determine the presence of a pentose sugar. For example, the sugar ribose would turn green (positive) and the sugar glucose would turn brown or yellow (negative). Nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) both contain a suger. RNA contains ribose, so it should have a positive orcinol test. DNA contains deoxyribose, which should have a weak reaction, yielding what appears to be a negative result.
