Blood flow delivers oxygen and nutrients (glucose, electrolytes, etc.,) to the cells in tissues, organs and organ systems. At the same time blood flow removes toxins and carbon dioxide that are by-products of cellular metabolism. The CO2 is released by the lungs upon exhalation and the toxins are removed by the liver and kidneys and excreted.

What is are organs and tissue?

Amino acids are the building blocks of cells. Cells are the building blocks for tissues; cells specialize into specific types of tissues. Tissues built of specialized cells form organs. Single or multiple organs make organ systems. All of the organ systems make up the organism, the human body in this case.Cells are the smallest but most powerful unit in the body. Nutrients and oxygen pass through the cell membrane, producing energy and body heat. Cells have machinery to fight infection. Cells also reproduce to repair injuries or diseases, if they can.Cells specialize into groups of tissues. Specialized tissues have usually one function.Tissues are grouped by function into body organs. Organs are entirely specialized for a certain function.Organs are grouped into organ systems. Each organ system has a separate function.Organ Systems make up the body, or the organism.See:How are tissue organs organs systems and cells alikeSee:What is the highest level of organization of these structures cells tissues organs organ system organism

Cells are to tissue as organs are to what organ system cells genes or organelles?

A cell is the smallest object that can perform life's functions. Tissues are made up of two or more cells working towards a single function. An organ is made up of two or more tissues working together to perform another function.

What happens when blood reaches tissues?

When blood reaches the tissues, cells, and organs via the capillaries, materials diffuse across the capillary wall so that the cells, tissues, and organs receive nutrients and oxygen, and eliminate wastes.
