Cytokinesis happens at the cell plate in the plant cell

It happens at the ceavage furrow in the animal cell....

The only similarity is that it is the microtubules shortening and tightning until itll eventually pinch the mother cell into two identical daughter cells

Cytokinesis is the last step in the cell cycle. It is the division of the cytoplasm of a cell. When a plant cell divides, a cell plate forms and the celll splits into two cells. In cells, such as animal cells, that lack a cell wall, the cell pinches in two, and two new cells are created.

the basic process is the same, but yes - there are differences.

Edited answer:

In plants cytokinesis usually takes place by cell plate formation whereas in animals it is by furrowing.

In animal, cytokinesis occur when the microtubule or ring of actin contract at the middle of the parent cell and pinched it into halve.

In plant, cytokinesis occur when the golgi apparatus of the plant produce carbohydrate vesicle and the vesicle arranged at the metaphase plate and fused with other vesicle to form a cell plate which will eventually form a cell wall.

They both undergo a type of division. Plants undergo cell plate formation. Animals undergo cleavage.

How is cytokinesis different in plants and animals!?

In plants, a new cell wall forms to split the cell

How are plants and animlas cells different?

Plants have a cell wall and chloroplasts. They can have lysosomes, but don't always. They are rectangular. Animal cells don't have chloroplasts and they have lysosomes. They are irregular shaped.

Do plants and animlas have mitochondria?

Yes,they have mitochondria in cells. It is common to both.

Cytokinesis terminates during which phase of mitosis?

Cytokinesis terminates during telophase. Cytokinesis is the formation of a cell plate in the cytoplasm. It is what causes cell division in plants.

What is significantly different between plants and animal cell mitosis a. metaphase b. anaphase c. cytokinesis d. prophase?

a. metaphase

What does cytokinesis occur with the formation of in plants?

Cell plate!!

Is mitochondria found in both plants and animlas?

Mitochondria is present in both plant and cell. It generates energy.

Compare and contrast the appearance of the chromosomes in onion and whitefish?

The onion has easily observable chromosomes and the whitefish has a clear view of the spindle apparatus.

How is cytokinesis in plants cells different to cyokinesis in aminal cells?

In plant cells cell plate is formed. In animal cells cleavage furrow occurs.

Difference between cytokinesis in animal and plant cells?

During plant cell cytokinesis, a cell plate is formed, beginning the division of the cell wall and cytoplasm. During animal cell cytokinesis, the cleavage furrow is formed, which is a pinching in of the cell membrane, which begins the division of the cells cytoplasm and cellular membrane.

How does cytokinesis occur in plants?

the cell wall causes a speed bumb in the process so cytokinesis comes through by poinching the plasma membrane inward.

What is the relationship between the processes of mitosis and cytokinesis?

Mitosis is the division of the nucleus, and cytokinesis is the division of the cytoplasm. Cytokinesis begins during telophase, and, unlike mitosis, occurs different in plants and animals. In plants, cytokinesis occurs when a new cell wall or cell plate forms between the two, newly formed nuclei. In animals, a cytokinesis is characterized by the formation of a cleavage furrow produced by contractile rings made up of microfilaments. (Campbell, and Reece 227). Cytokinesis would be a pointless process if not for mitosis because mitosis creates two daughter cells. If there weren't two fully formed nuclei by telophase, the cell would split and one "cell" would be left without a nucleus, and therefore useless. Although, by definition , mitosis may occur without cytokinesis, the two daughters must be separated in order to function properly and most efficiently.
