Until a few hundred years ago, phyics Biology and chemistry were all the one subject. The split first happened in bio/physics between living and on living sciences and then chemistry branched off from physics as just the study of the electron.

if biology was all the stuff you can make from LEGO bricks,

chemistry would be a list of brick types and all the ways bricks can stick together and physics would be about what the brick is made from and how the whole brick universe came to be.

Two main ways:

Applications

Al lot of medicinal treatments are physics based. Ultra sound, PET scanners, MRI etc...

Origins:

All of our organs have evolved according to the laws of physics. Evolution itself is linked to physics. For example, the peak of our sun's radiation (radiation is a fancy word for light) is 380- 750 nanometers in wavelength. it's no co-incidence that our eyes happen to respond to those wavelengths only. This is what's called visible light, but only because our eyes evolved to match the sun's peak. That's also explains why we don't see in the infared or UV spectrum.

The Laws of Physics apply to all types of matter in our universe, down to the smallest atom. Animal, vegetable or mineral, liquid, solid or gas, all forms of matter are governed by the laws of physics. For example, rocks and humans both obey the law of gravity, which is one of the most obvious and comprehensible laws of physics. Therefore, when one studies other sciences, e.g. chemistry or biology, one must always keep the laws of physics in mind, because they will always have predictable influences on the subject.

Physics and biology are both branches of science. Biology is the study of life. Physics is the study of the forces in the world.

What is the type of science that heavily uses math?

Several types of science are linked to math. Among them are physics, chemistry, biology, quantum physics and quantum mechanics. Math is ubiquitous in nearly all disciplines of science.

Which would be greater the contributions made by biology to physics or contributions made by physics to biology?

Physics to biology (in my opinion at least). Biology has more to do with macroscopic things whereas current physics (which is where a discovery would be made) deals with quantum physics and fundamental particles. A discovery in the field of quantum physics, for example the discovery of a new particle, might help explain something in biology whereas It is hard for me to envision something in biology breaking much new ground in physics.

What are other areas of science that science is linked to?

Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Astronomy, Botany, Engineering. That's all I got, and Engineering isn't all science.

What is the significance of physics in understanding biology?

The significance of physics in understanding biology is that it gives tools to study life forms more accurately. The use of size, scaling and relativity are some principles of physics that are relevant to biology.

Is the study of muscle movements an example of biology or physics?

It is an example of both, as biology and physics overlap because the boundary of science between them is not always so clear.

What are the main division of science?

Physics, Chemistry and biology are main divisions of science.
