How long can you live without a brain?

One time at band camp I was proceeding towards my Trumpet lessons a giant yetti charged me from behind the marching band. I took out my dagger to duel the beast, as I was weilding my weapon with esteem precision I accedentaly removed my fellow band members head. He went on to perform for five mor years playing the drum in the marching band. He got a job as a scarecrow at a wheat field. He was shot and killed by an imbread hick.

"You" are principally your brain, and when the brain is gone, you are not alive. It is possible that massive support could keep bodily functions going, but the body would be "alive" only in the sense that it would not deteriorate.
