All depends on your size, physical activity, and overall health. An easy way to know if your drinking enough is to look at your urine. Urine should be a light yellow color. If the color is dark yellow the odds are your dehydrated and should drink more.

There are 20 fl oz (fluid ounces) in an imperial pint. A quart is two imperial pints, equalling 40fl oz. You would therefore be drinking 48/40ths of a quart which works out to 1 8/40ths, 1 4/20ths, 1 2/10ths or 1 1/5th. Whichever fraction you choose it works out that you have drunk 120% of a quart, or 1.2 quarts.
