The two methods for reducing swelling are keeping the limb elevated, preferably above your heart level, and using ice on the swollen area. You can use an ice pack, or just ice in a cloth or in a plastic baggy. Even frozen vegetables can be used as an ice pack.
I had arthroscopy surgery too on my right knee on aug.5th almost a month ago. I'm experiencing more pain now that I had before. They said that after a few weeks I should have my full range of motion back and be able to run and be back in sports in 1-2 months. But I'm just having a lot of trouble walking especially since school just started. They had thought I tore my meniscus, but during the procedure they found out I have a cracked cartilage, synovitis, and separation of my lateral and medial facets. I just turned 17 and I am also experiencing discomfort on my left knee too. Especially when I wake up its so stiff and it doesnt make any sense. My family thinks it's bothering me because I'm putting more pressure on my left knee. Does your right inner ankle bother you too sometimes? Mine feels like it needs to pop or something. I have another appointment in two weeks but I have a feeling they wont know what to do other than take it easy. I'm sorry about your discomfort, it's really not fun at all, I hope your surgery goes better than your last and I hope I dont have to end up having another surgery like you too. Thank you for putting this up because I was just wondering if anyone has had the same problems and apparently I'm not the only one.

An arthroscopist is a person who carries out an arthroscopy, an examination of the interior of a joint such as the knee by use of an arthroscope.
The small incision made during knee arthroscopy is called a "portal." These portals allow the surgeon to insert instruments and a camera into the joint space to diagnose and treat various knee conditions. Typically, there are two or three portals used, depending on the procedure being performed.
Arthroscopy of the knee is performed through a sophisticated procedure where a small scope is inserted into the knee joint in order to repair the damaged cartilage and other ligaments. It is also performed as a diagnostic procedure to rule out the other knee problems in the knee joint.
