It refers to the Rh blood group (the blood group system is named Rh because it was first discovered in rhesus monkeys).
In the Rh blood group, the main antigens are D, C, c, E, and e.
The presence or absence of the D antigen determines whether you are considered Rh negative or positive; Rh positive individuals have D, Rh negative people do not.
Rh negative people are sometimes written as having d (as opposed to D) but this is a misnomer because there is no d antigen; d merely denotes the absence of D (just as in the ABO blood group, type O people do not have an O antigen; they merely lack A and B).
I'm assuming that what u mean is the +/- symbol found after your blood group. ie AB+.
the symbol actually means another blood antigen called rhesus(Rh) or D group. basically its another form of antigen present on the red blood cells similar to A and B which are more common than the latter. similar to any other groups, matching is required before any blood transfusions can be undertaken. however the only special significance of this group is that a mother with Rh- can produce antibodies against her baby with Rh+ leading to lysis of the fetal RBCs, commonly occurs on the 2nd pregnancy with a Rh- child. thus is a rule of thumb to always screen the mother for Rh- blood type to prevent complication during delivery. it is also highly advisable that females' with Rh- must never be transfused with a Rh+ blood to prevent sensitisation(antibody formation) which again might lead to unwanted complication during pregnancy. however, with current medical intervention Rh isoimmunisation has become a complication of the past.
A negative is a blood type. The negative refers to the Rh factor.
Rh factor
An individual who is blood type AB negative can receive any blood type that is negative. Somebody who is O negative can donate blood to anyone.
What is Blood Type B+ Negative for antibodies
No they cannot. They can only have a child with type A or type O blood.
A person with A negative blood can donate blood to a person with A negative blood and a person with AB negative blood.
The Rhesus factor, also known as the Rh factor, is an antigen that exists on the surface of red blood cells. People who have the Rhesus factor are considered to have a positive blood type. Those who don't have the antigen are considered to have a negative blood type.
An individual who is blood type AB negative can receive any blood type that is negative. Somebody who is O negative can donate blood to anyone.
Yes, this is true. 100% of all children will have a negative blood type.
What is Blood Type B+ Negative for antibodies
No they cannot. They can only have a child with type A or type O blood.
yes, absolutely
Type A or Type O Negative can give to positive Positive can not give to negative
Beyonce blood type is "O" negative also known as Rh blood negative.
They cannot. Two parents with type O negative blood will produce offspring of type O negative.
Yes. It's the negative blood types that can't accept blood from the positives.
About 7% of people have the blood type O negative. Type 0 blood is the most needed blood type as it is the universal blood type. Though those with this blood type must have this blood type and no other.
Yes. It's the negative blood types that can't accept blood from the positives.
Type O negative blood is a universal donor blood type. In normal circumstances, anyone can receive type O negative blood in a transfusion. When it comes to plasma donation, type AB positive is a universal donor.
