The 4 unique properties of water
1) Water is a Versatile Solvent
Lipids and Gold cannot dissolve in water.
2) Ice is more dense than liquid water
Ex: At 68 degrees F. and 22 degrees Celsius density increases. By 4 degrees Celsius density decreases. Lastly by, 32 degrees F. and 0 degrees Celsius density is at its lowest.
Ice: hydrogen bonds are stable=less dense.
Liquid Water: hydrogen bonds break and reform= more dense.
3) Cohesion, Adhesion, Surface Tension
Cohesion: when water molecules stick to other water molecules.
Adhesion: Water molecules stick to other polar surfaces
Surface tension: If you dive flat the hydrogen bonds will have an affect on you. If you dive in versus flat then effect won't be as bad.
4) High Specific Heat/ high heat of vaporization
- amount of heat required to change the temp by a degree.
Effect: water moderates temperature( perspiration or sweating)
Cohesive, Adhesive, surface tension, and universal solvent.
there are more then four principles
hydrophobic is water hating and hydrophilic is water loving ( attracts water).
The four properties needed in water for living organisms is peanuts,ice-cream,dog food and shoes.
Because cells are made up of water
water is water is is wet liquid wet and liquit. if this is on test 100 in calvert you shouldn't be looking here you should be looking in your books!
could it be any of these? -This would have no effect on the properties of water as a solute. -Water molecules would become less polar and lose the ability to dissolve solutes. -More hydrogen bonds would form, preventing water from interacting with solutes.
Some unique properties that the compound water has is oxygen, molecular chemicals, and hydrogen.

The formula for water is H2O, and its boiling point is 212 degrees Fahrenheit. Cohesion and adhesion are the unique properties of water. They are a result of the hydrogen bond that exists between water molecules.
